Victorian 'From A Friend' Seal
A wonderful seal from the Victorian period, c1880s. The seal is 9ct gold cased and has a rosy tint to the casing. It has a lovely orange carnelian set into the base, which has the words 'From A Friend' engraved into the stone. Such a lovely sentiment, which would have been used to seal letters with wax leaving the words as the first thing you would see on receiving your letter. How endearing.

Size - The base measures approx 12.2mm by 10.5mm. The seal is around 17mm high excluding the added bail.
Condition - Good. Some loss to the casing as pictured. Carnelian is in excellent condition.
