A wonderful ring from the mid Victorian period, c1860s. The ring is made from solid 15ct gold and has a vibrant red garnet set in the rub over setting. The garnet is a lovely deep shade of red and it manages to catch the light giving hints of the vibrant colour beneath. The name ‘Annie’ has been carved into the table of the ring in a lovely gothic script. This could be pressed into wax to give an imprint of the name. Such a delight and wonderful that the stone is a gemstone, rather than glass as it often the case with this Tassie style of ring. The shank also bears some lovely details in the gold and has the wonderful rich colour you would expect from 15ct gold.
