Victorian Heavy 'CE' Locket Ring
An absolutely beautiful ring from the late Victorian period, dated inside the shank with the engraving ‘Ob June 6th 1880’. The ring is made from wonderful heavy 18ct gold with a beautiful rich patina, and is an extremely solid ring. It has a little square locket at the top, that can be removed and still holds its original glass as well as the little pieces of cardboard that would make a picture or lock of hair sit comfortably at the top beneath the glass. To either side of the locket are the applied gothic initials of C E. This was obviously originally a mourning ring and would have likely contained a little hair behind the locket. Now it is ready to be celebrated again and you can add your own momentoe behind the glass. A truly wonderful piece, in original condition.
Details:
Materials - 18ct Gold (marked)
Age - 1880
Size - The ring is approx 9mm wide all the way around.
Ring size UK M 1/2 US 6 1/2 taking into account that it is a wide band and will fit fairly snug. I would prefer not to resize this ring.
Condition - Excellent
Weight - 10.45g
