Victorian Hidden Compartment Ring

sold out

A wonderful and fairly rare ring from the Victorian period. The ring tests as being around 12ct gold, which has a very slight rosy appearance, and has a hollow construction. This beautiful plain band holds a secret - there is a little hidden compartment behind a hinged panel. The panel opens to reveal a little cavity within the ring. Perhaps you could place your own note within. The compartment has a solid hinge and a good click closure, staying in place perfectly. As a ring, it looks just as a plain band would with a D shaped appearance and a wonderful, tactile feel on the finger. Such a beautiful ring.

This ring should be worn with a little care; due to its hollow construction it might be prone to dent. The hinge and click will wear over time if used excessively as gold is a soft metal by nature.
