Victorian 'In Memory of My Mother' Diamond Ring

sold out

A lovely example of a memorial ring from the Victorian period. The ring likely dates to around 1860 and is made from solid 15ct gold. It is a band ring with a little disc set on top of it. The band of the ring has the words ‘In Memory of My Mother’ picked out in gold block lettering and highlighted by the lovely black enamel all the way around. The wording ends perfectly at the centre where a little gold disc has been added. This looks to be original as the enamel sits around the disc. Perhaps the disc had been a little brooch or stick pin that the mother had worn? At the centre of the gold disc is a pretty rose cut diamond in a star setting. The diamond has a slightly lilac shade and is perhaps foil backed.

NB: Box not included. Wear with care.
