Victorian Large Heart Locket

sold out

A wonderful and fairly unusual locket from the Victorian period due to its lovely large size. The locket has full hallmarks dating it to Chester 1897. It is also engraved inside in beautiful script for ‘Tom, July 3rd 1899’. The locket is an impressive heart shaped design and has a little split pearl in a star setting to the front. It opens on a hinge and has one frame inside that can be removed to place your own photo behind. The gold is 9ct rosy gold and is very much on the side of rose gold rather than yellow. The heart is complete with a large faceted split ring allowing it to be worn on a substantial chain or added to any bunch of charms as the split ring can hold other pieces. Such a statement.

The chain pictured is for display only.

Details:

Materials - 9ct Rose Gold (full hallmarks), Pearl

Age - Dated Chester 1897

Size - The locket measures approx 38.5mm long excluding the bail and split ring, by 37.5mm wide. The split ring is approx 13mm outer diameter.

Condition - Very good. A line dent to the front that can be seen in some lights. I have tried to capture this in a picture (last picture) as it is noticeable. Wear commensurate with age. Good click closure to the locket.

Weight - 10.9g
