A wonderful pendant from the Victorian period, c1880s. The pendant is made from 15ct gold with an 18ct wash. The frame arches around the top and has a little rope twist border. Hanging from the bottom are an array of spiked tassels. At the centre is a dome of pavé turquoise with a little star set rose cut diamond at the centre. The turquoise are silver set, as was customary during this period, and show a good variation in the colour. Only a couple of the turquoise look to have been replaced and these have been done expertly with no signs of glue. The back of the pendant shows some signs of wear with a couple of dings in the gold. The pendant is complete with a brooch fastening; the pin and catches are not gold, again, not uncommon with this style of piece.

The chain pictured is for display only. This piece should be worn with care due to the delicate nature of pavé settings.
