A wonderful and unusual ring from the Victorian period, c1860s. The ring is French in origin and marked with the eagles head, the French mark for 18ct gold. It has a stunning old cut diamond at the centre that is slightly cushion cut and measures approx 3.5mm in diameter. It is a lovely chunky stone and is around I colour, SI quality. Due to its chunky cut, it is likely around 0.2cts diamonds. This is set in silver and then flanked by a trefoil of beautiful deep pink/red Perpignan garnets in gold on either side. These garnets are rose cuts and are synonymous with this specific town in France. The rose cuts allow the light to bounce around the stones beautifully and this ring has its own special sparkle. A true unusual beauty.
