Victorian Sapphire Circle Locket

A beautiful and classic locket from the late Victorian period. The locket is made from solid 14kt gold and is a perfect circle. At the centre is a lovely blue sapphire that has been set in a star setting. The sapphire shows a real depth of colour and is faceted to allow the light to play on the surface. Inside the locket has frames on each side that can be removed to place your own photos behind. One side has the original porcelain backing that helps to raise the photo to the correct position. Such a lovely example.

Materials - 14kt Gold (tested, remnants of possible Austrian marks, 4 for 14kt gold), Sapphire

Age - Late Victorian

Size - The locket measures approx 22mm in diameter and is around 4.8mm deep. The sapphire measures approx 4mm by 3.9mm.

Condition - Very good. A couple of tiny pinprick dings to the front, noted for accuracy only. A little sign of wear commensurate with age.

Weight - 8.09g
