Victorian Sapphire & Diamond Dress Ring

A beautiful ring from the Victorian period, c1870s. The ring is made from 9ct gold that has a slightly rosy tint, and silver. It has four beautiful sapphires in a line down the centre. The sapphires are a wonderful, vivid blue. It seems that three are the original natural stones with the final fourth at one end being a replacement. This replacement is likely synthetic, though the overall match and cut is good. The sapphires are surrounded by a stylised floral motif set throughout with old rose cut diamonds. A pretty and unusual design.
