Victorian Silver & 15ct Gold Acrobat Seal

A wonderful and unusual seal from the Victorian period. The seal has a wonderful acrobat doing a handstand. The acrobat is dressed in a waistcoat and has an excellent moustache, a true gentleman. He is made out of solid silver that has a lovely oxidised appearance. He ‘stands' no a 15ct gold cut out base. The pretty base is set with a banded onyx with the white showing outwards. Banded onyx is associated with happiness, good fortune and strength - all feel as though they are reflected in the acrobat. A truly unusual piece.
