A beautiful and unusual lock clasp from the Victorian period, c1880s. The clasp is made from sterling silver, is a hollow construction and is the shape of a ball with beautiful natural decoration in the form of leaves. This lock has an individual mechanism that has been patented, marked on the top. One side of the over bar pushes down on a spring to allow you to clasp your bracelet or necklace. It springs back into place well and acts as a hidden clasp. Amusingly, the lock has the look of a kettlebell.
