An amazing statement padlock pendant from the Victorian period, c1870s. The locket is made from silver, marked with an Austro Hungarian hallmark from around 1872. It is a beautiful, large locket, which has solid black enamel and a pearl studded star at the centre. The pearls are a little worn, though all original and still hold their charm. Inside the locket there is some residue red paint that is scratched. There are no frames, but each side has a lip that would keep a photo in place. There is an excellent click to the closure. The locket is complete with a working padlock mechanism. Such a lovely size for a piece such as this!

Chain pictured is for display only.
