Victorian Snake Bloodstone Fob

A wonderful spinning fob from the late Victorian period, dated Birmingham 1894. The fob has full English hallmarks and is solid 9ct gold with a slight rosy hue as you would expect from antique gold. It has a circular spinner, which is set with a bloodstone to one side and a dark red carnelian to the other. The bloodstone is a beautiful example with plenty of red flecks throughout. The adjoining sides of the knotted top are little snakes. They have such cute little faces and the knot at the top also depicts their twin tails. The fob is complete with an extra ring, which is unsoldered in case you would prefer to remove it.

Size - The fob measures approx 33.5mm long including the attached bail, but not the added ring. It is around 25mm wide. The circular spinner is approx 21mm in diameter.

Condition - Excellent. The attached ring has some dings, though it is marked as 9ct gold.
