A wonderful early example of this style of ring, c1940s. This ring is known as a thai princess ring and is traditional in shape in Thailand, thought to resemble a flower. These rings were often handmade and brought back as souvenirs by soldiers after WW2. This is a particularly lovely example as it is unusual to find these rings set with emeralds, particularly with this cut. The ring has three tiers that are all set with emeralds that are oblong in shape and claw set individually. At the centre is a larger round emerald. All the gemstones are a wonderful vibrant green and exhibit natural inclusions as you would expect from this precious gemstone. The stones are all set in silver with an intricate multi claw design, and the shank is 14kt gold with a slight rosy tint. There is a beautiful Art Deco detail to the shoulders of the shank and it is clear to see that this is super quality.
