Vintage 9ct Horse Clip On Earrings

A cool statement pair of earrings from the mid to late 20th Century, c1970s. The earrings are made from solid 9ct gold and are marked with the makers mark SS, which I believe to be Shetland Silvercraft. They began in the early 1950s and made items inspired by the surrounding countryside and wildlife in Shetland. Items are mainly in silver meaning it is lovely to find these earrings in gold.

These particular earrings have clip on fastenings and are ideal for those without pierced ears, though they could of course be worn if you have pierced ears too. They have been made in the shape of galloping horses and have lovely detail to the manes and tails. Such a great pair of earrings in excellent condition. The clip closure is firm without being too sore.
