Vintage Boulder Opal Ring

A gorgeous ring from the mid 20th Century, c1970s/80s. The ring is made from 9ct gold and has a fabulous boulder opal set into a simple bezel setting. The opal shines out from within its host rock and has a brown-ish background with beautiful flashes of red and green shining through its polished window. These rings are always so intriguing and this one has a real ‘galaxy’ look. It has been set on a split shank and is in lovely condition.

Size - The opal measures approx 17mm by 11.2mm in the setting. It sits around 9mm high from the finger.

Condition - Very good. Some surface wear to one area where the host rock meets the opal
