A lovely pair of diamond earrings from the first half of the 20th Century, c1930s and likely originating from France. The earrings are made from 18ct white gold. They have round brilliant diamonds that are claw set in a raised openwork setting with another smaller diamond set in the same way to the top. They have been beautifully made with a keeper bar to the back, a common technique used with earrings such as these. The main diamonds measure approx 3.5mm each making them around 0.15cts each and the top diamond measures around 2mm, approx 0.03cts each. The diamonds are estimated to be H colour, VS clarity.

The earrings have post and butterfly fastenings. They may have started life with dormeuse fastenings, as is more common with this style of earrings, though this is difficult to know for sure and the earrings have been altered expertly if so.
