Vintage Green Spinel Cocktail Ring

sold out

A wonderful large cocktail ring from the mid 20th Century, c1960s. The ring is made from 9ct gold, marked on the inside of the shank, and has a 10 claw setting clasping a large synthetic spinel. The spinel is a lovely deep sea green, which is hard to represent in the photographs, and there is a lovely play of light throughout. The final picture on the hand is a good representation of the colour. It sits fairly prominently on the finger and is a great statement ring. These rings were popular during this period, though it is fairly unusual to find one with this colour gem.
