A beautiful and unusual ring with a Modernist feel. The ring is from the mid 20th Century, c1960s, and is made from solid 14kt gold. The overall ring is square in shape with two contrasting designs meeting at the top. One side of the ring has an oval opal set in a simple rub over setting. The opal is likely a doublet, though this is impossible to tell as it sits in a closed back setting. It shows plenty of colour and has a slightly moody blue/green appearance. The contrasting side shows a semi-circle of little diamonds set in white gold. The diamond side of the ring is ridged in the gold, whilst the rest of the ring is smooth. Despite the square shape, it is incredibly comfortable to wear. A truly bewitching ring with plenty of personality!
