A wonderful ring from 1940's Britain during World War Two. The ring is made from sterling silver and displays an enamel design, which was the cap badge of the Auxiliary Territorial Service, known as the 'ATS’. The ATS was the women's branch of the British Army that was active from 9 September 1938 to 1 February 1949. In fact, Queen Elizabeth II served as a member of this branch during the war. This particular example is in lovely condition and looks as though it has hardly been worn, with bright blue enamel, a red crown to the top and a wreath of green laurels around the edge. A truly lovely piece of history.
